A Healthier Apple Crisp

For the Holidays

There isn't anything more American than apple pie! This treat delivers all of the flavor without any of the guilt.

Ingredients

  • 10 Cups unpeeled, cored, sliced apples
  • ½ cup white sugar
  • 1 Tablespoon whole wheat flour
  • 1 tsp, cinnamon
  • ½ cup water
  • 1 cup quick cooking oats
  • 1 cup whole wheat flour
  • ½ cup packed brown sugar
  • ¼ tsp baking powder
  • ¼ tsp baking soda
  • ½ cup butter, melted

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  2. Place the sliced apples in 9X13 pan. Mix the white sugar, 1 Tablespoon flour and cinnamon together and sprinkle t over the apples. Pour the water evenly over all.
  3. Combine the oats, 1 cup of flour, brown sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and melted butter together. Crumble evenly over the apple mixture.
  4. Bake at 350 degrees for about 45 minutes.
